After 20 years of being in business, two of  the most common questions asked are:
"Who were Frick and Frack?" and "What does the store name mean?" As it turns out, Frick and Frack were a Vaudeville skating team! "Frick and Frack" were a team of two Swiss ice skaters who came to the US in about 1937 and joined the original Ice Follies show as comedy figure skaters. They skated in Swiss Alpine costumes known as lieder hosen and performed eccentric tricks on ice. One of the more famous tricks was known as the "cantilever spread-eagle". Werner Groebli was Frick and Hans Mauche was Frack.*(spelling is close but may not be exact)*They were two of the highest paid skaters of the time. Frick and Frack skated in the Ice Follies for several years, entertaining the masses,  until sadly Hans Mauche contracted an illness known as osteomylitis. He has since passed away. Performing well into his sixties, Werner Groebli continued on as Mr. Frick and continued the legend over many more years. He now lives in the Palm Springs area with his wife and was featured on a TV special on PBS in 1999.
